What to practise?
Most
students
cover
our
Driving
Curriculum
in
the
first
three
lessons,
with
Lesson
4
as
a
review
and
practice
of
all
skills
and
Lesson
5
as
a
review
and
pre-test
to
make
sure
the
Learner
Driver
is
ready
for
the
Road
Test.
Some
students
require
extra
lessons.
Either
way,
the
Learner
Driver
should
be
able
to
tell
you
about
their
most
recent
lesson.
Following
is
a
brief
description
of
what
is
covered
in
each
lesson
and
what
should
be
practised.
Lesson 4 - Continuing Practice
By
the
end
of
Lesson
4
all
skills
in
the
curriculum
should
have
been
covered
in
the
Driving
Lessons.
Go
to
a
parking
lot
and
practise
reverse
parking
into
a
stall
and
then
reverse
parking
next
to
another
vehicle
and
finally
reverse
parking
between
two
vehicles.
Continue
to
practise
around
major
intersections
and
continue
to
stress
shoulder
checks
and
watching
for
pedestrians.
Car
handling
and
control
should
be
smooth
and
increasingly
precise.
The
Learner
Driver
should
be
able
to
identify
and
avoid
potentially
hazardous
situations
(pedestrians,
bicycles,
speeding
and
inattentive
drivers)
and
should
be
able
to
maintain
a
suitable
following
distance
behind
other
vehicles
and
a
safe
space
to
the
sides
of
the
car.
Merging
into
cross
traffic
at
an
intersection
will
continue
to
need
practice
for
some
time
-
it
is
difficult
for
new drivers to judge speed and distance.
